Our camp site on the river at El Questro was fantastic. Beautiful views and very peaceful - all to ourselves. The first Gorge walk (Amalia Gorge) was another failure for me. After shimmying around a 10m high ledge on our bums hanging onto a chain, I thought I had it licked. Then a climb around another narrow ledge above a slimy pool got me nervous and I conceded defeat! It was still a solid outing. We then went to Zebedee Springs which is warm water with little waterfalls in a palm filled valley. Very beautiful and soothing - but so say the other hoards who were there. The afternoon was fabulous and lazy at camp in the shade. We had booked into the Chamberlain Gorge cruise that afternoon but they bumped us off it as they had overbooked! We went down and looked anyway and it was very nice in the afternoon light. We spotted the upmarket El Quetro lodge overhanging another part of Chamberlain Gorge. In short: I loved our campsite but everything else was great but compromised in one way or another (eg there's lots of people there).
