Into Kakadu

A reasonably slow day today entering Kakadu. El and Chris finally flew this morning as the Covid restriction lifted yesterday. We'll meet up tomorrow and travel together for the next few weeks. It's incredibly hot! We did one walk today, which unexpectedly had little shade and was very uncomfortable. It was at Mamukala Wetland, which had a very nice bird hide otherwise. We mooched around bits of Kakadu in the Prado air conditioning this afternoon, including visiting the town of Jabiru, with the corrugated iron hotel shaped like a crocodile (the snout is the porte cochere, the fire stairs are the legs!). His head is in the photo. We ended up at Sandy Billabong campground, where I've deployed the screen gazebo house to thwart the bugs. It remains very warm, but we remain hopeful it might cool down like last night (where it got surprisingly cold). But that was 2 hours west from here.

Hawaii and Home

Whew! We arrived home yesterday. For completeness, here are some pics from the island of Kauai in Hawaii, being our final stop for a few day...
