It's a long way from Katherine to Alice Springs! The first day was quite long, passing back across the start of the Buchanan Highway where we began a while ago. There were also lots of termite mounds, many dressed up in t-shirts and hats. We stayed at Tennant Creek where a country guitar guy played at the caravan park while we had pizzas and beers - the pleasant ambience of which offset the high threat of theft overnight from locals! We were advised to leave nothing out overnight and to lock our car doors! The next day we arrived in Alice Springs mid afternoon and did some looking around, including seeing the original 'Alice Spring', which isn't a spring at all. We also saw lovely Ringneck parrots which were quite splendid.
