The first night south of Cooktown we stayed at Bloomfield (near Wujal Wujal) and the second near Cow Bay in the Daintree. First we saw Trevethen Falls which were very remote but spectacular. Bloomfield is on Weary Bay (named by an exhausted Captain Cook - and is a lovely beach) and near Bloomfield Falls (which were massive, pumping and quite a sight). The river has plenty of crocodiles. The Bloomfield Track goes from Wujal Wujal to Cape Tribulation (also named by Cook as 'this is where all our troubles began'). The first part of the track has bridges and concrete on steep inclines (otherwise dirt). It goes up and down a lot and you can pop out to see beaches. But the weather was getting worse...
