The Wild West
Mornington Wilderness Camp is a treat. After a leisurely morning we drove for an hour back to the GRR (east) then for another 2 hours the other side (south east). The trip was quite a spectacle. I thought an Apache tribe would attack at any moment! Huge vistas and stark mountains. We crossed several creeks and saw many proud Boab trees - each of a different shape and personality. After lunch we spent the afternoon visiting termite mounds, the Fitzroy River, a huge wetland and the Sir John Gorge which was spectacular in the sunset light (and we were the only ones there). They have a bar and restaurant here, so we finished the day with a fantastic cheese platter and red wine - very nice indeed!
