We really enjoyed the Birdwatchers Cabin south of Atherton. Its set right in the rainforest - we walked on well marked trails and had a very up close and personal encounter with a mature Cassowary - awesome. On our way up to Jullatten we visited Mount Hypipamee National Park with an extraordinary volcanic crater and fine waterfalls. We enjoyed Atherton, which seems to be thriving, as well as Hatties Swamp nearby to the south.
