Paris

We had only two nights and a day in Paris, staying with Anthony. It was a great visit and we walked a huge distance on the day we were there! We also were lucky to have great weather - which was apparently unusual given the weather over the past few weeks. Here's some pics:

Saint Eustache Church at dusk - very close to Anthony's apartment...

Fire Station opposite church....

The Conciergerie and guess who?....

Great little muslim cafe at main Paris mosque - tasty little sweet treats too....

Natural History museum at Jardin de Plantes....

Plenty of spring flowers at Jardin de Plantes....

Why not show a little flamboyance on your residential buildings? - from the Coulee Verte (elevated parkland along former railway line) in the Bastille district....

Resting under the spring flowers....

Coulee Verte above, with very interesting studios and workshops in the arches below: makers of lights; brass instruments; cellos; shoes; statues; cladding; clothes etc etc

Top of column at Bastille....

Place de Vosges - people were out in force having picnics, given the weather....

Place de Vosges....

Traditional shop front in upper Marais district (Haut Marais)....

Square du Temple - Haut Marais....

Porte Saint Denis - original city gate along Boulevard St Denis....

Galleries Lafayette - had a nice cup of tea looking up at the dome....

The Dome....

View of Sacre Coeur from roof terrace of Galleries Lafayette....

Dinner on second night....
